Meet Krista
BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA
Serving my community and the surrounding areas since 2021, I am dedicated to nurturing families through the transformative journey of pregnancy and childbirth. My commitment extends beyond the traditional roles to encompass childbirth educator, birth doula, postpartum doula, breastfeeding counselor, and to capture the beauty in it all as a birth photographer.
As an advocate for continual learning, I strive to expand my knowledge to better support families, aiming to empower them to be the best versions of themselves. My philosophy centers around empowering new parents to step into a place of power and confidence as they make choices tailored to their family’s unique needs.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies from West Virginia University. My experiences and education during this time equipped me with a deep understanding of the intricate dynamics of the mother-baby unit. My passion for supporting families blossomed further through working with families as an Early Head Start Home Visitor.
After the birth of my second daughter, I decided to continue my education through the International Doula Institute, where I expanded my skills and knowledge to become a dedicated birth doula, postpartum doula, and breastfeeding counselor. In addition, I completed childbirth educator training through birthworker.com, further enriching my toolkit for empowering and educating expectant parents.
The best source of learning so far in my life has been experiencing pregnancy, birth, and parenthood firsthand. My daughters are the reason I am where I am today. They drive my passion to create a better world for women to live and give birth in. Embarking on the incredible adventure of parenthood is a unique and sacred experience, and I am honored to be a part of your journey. Let’s work together to create a space of empowerment, education, and unwavering support for you and your growing family.
