Lactation Consultants
Pittsburgh Doula Network has IBCLC’s (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) available for private in-home visitation. She will sit with you for up to 90 minutes to offer education, guidance, and create a care plan if breastfeeding isn’t going the way you envisioned. We are very pleased to be able to offer 2 lactation consultants that do home visits in Pittsburgh. Some common reasons for a lactation visit:
- Latching
- Milk supply
- Breast and nipple soreness
- Slow weight gain
- Engorgement
- Feeding techniques
- Weaning
- Bottle-feeding
- Pumping
- Back to work

Our lactation consultants partner with The Lactation Network, where potentially up to six in-home visits are in-network with the following companies: Highmark, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, and United Healthcare.
Please contact us if your insurance is not listed. If you do not have coverage, we can provide a superbill so you can apply for third-party reimbursement. There is no payment necessary if your insurance pre-approves a 90-minute consult.
Consultation Pricing:
In-home visit with an IBCLC to observe, assess, and create a breastfeeding plan based on your goals. A post-consultation write-up of everything covered will be provided. Clients can contact their lactation consultant with questions or concerns via phone, email, or text for one month.
