POSTPARTUM DOULA

For over 20 years, I have been passionate about caring for young children and their families in a variety of ways. I have been a full-time nanny, a children’s and infant room ministry director, a therapeutic support staff for children with autism, a camp counselor, an afterschool director, and a kindergarten teacher. My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a focus on Childhood Development.

I also am a mom of three children, ages 5, 7, and 10. I was a stay-at-home mom with all of my children while they were young. While I was staying home with my children, I worked as a nanny, taking care of both infants and toddlers within my own home. During this time, I fell in love with caring for babies and being able to serve and support new parents through such a vulnerable and exciting stage of their life, which is why I became a postpartum doula!

I understand and empathize with the physical and emotional struggles and joys that come with having a new baby. To be able to provide parents with compassionate support, knowledge, and the physical rest that they need during this time, is a very humbling and fulfilling job for me. It fills my heart with joy to care for little ones and to give both a baby, and their parents, the unconditional love, gentleness, care, and attention that the entire family needs during such a big transition in their lives.

I am up to date on my CPR certification and my PA clearances. I have completed training with a certified Lactation Consultant and I am enrolled in the postpartum doula certification course with Maternity Wise. I am continuously furthering my education with infant and postpartum care so that I can continue to grow in my ability to support the families I work with.
