Hello! My name is Jess and I am a certified perinatal doula through DONA international and UPMC. I am also CPR certified, trained in bereavement support, have 4.5 years of doula experience, and 10 years of experience in child care. At a young age, I knew I wanted to be an advocate for women, and to also work and support children. Being a doula is the best of both worlds, and I couldn’t be more privileged to support women in such a sacred and vulnerable time of their lives. I found my role in doula work 4.5 years ago, when I was volunteering to hold the NICU babies at Magee Women’s Hospital. I am proud to say I have been working as a prenatal/birth/postpartum doula ever since!

Growing up in a large family, I was always surrounded by a village of women to support me, and I am so grateful I now get to share that skill with others. My mother is 1 of 14 children, I have a younger brother, and 47 cousins. Being surrounded by love and loudness 24/7, I have learned how to thrive in the chaos at a very young age, and I cannot wait to join in on whatever chaos your family brings!

Doing this work has given me amazing bonds with family members and clients that I will cherish forever. I’ve attended over 100 births, supported over 50 families post partum, and have been lucky to learn how to adapt to so many different circumstances pre and post-birth! Birth and post partum recovery can look different for everyone, and I am here to support you through each stage.

I am a Pittsburgh city girl, born (at Magee!) and raised in Mt. Oliver/Carrick. Last year I decided on the suburb life and purchased my first home in the South Hills/Baldwin area with my partner. We have two sweet rescues, Beans and Pearl, who keep me on my toes! We love gardening, film, and music/concerts in our free time, and being new homeowners keeps us busy too!

I would be so excited to be a part of your village once your baby comes earthside! While this can be a beautiful and joyous moment in your life, it can also be a stressful and frustrating journey, and you shouldn’t have to go through it alone.
