Founder
Heather Bradley is our Founder and was the Director of Pittsburgh Doula Network from 2000-2021.
My goal is to "plant seeds of confidence" in people during their pregnancy and the immediate period after and watch them blossom into caring, attentive and strong parents. This sacred part of the journey of into becoming a parent needs to be protected and respected. My hope is that every birthing person has a positive experience and the surrounding family members have their important role acknowledged. The dedication of the doulas in this group and their desire to continue to do the work they love has kept PDN thriving. This is very fulfilling career and both doula and parent benefit!
I have been a DONA-Certified Labor Doula, Certified Hypnobirthing Instructor, breastfeeding activist and midwife attended - homebirth supporter. I've attended over 300 births and served over 500 families, caring for children and empowering parents for the past 21 years and loving every moment. I feel so lucky to have found something I truly love to do. There is something to be learned from every birth, every baby and every birthing person. I have come full circle by having four children of my own - the joy of my life!
In 2017, I began work on a new project for a group of very under served families- those mourning the loss of a child. Pittsburgh Bereavement Doulas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free labor doula and postpartum doula support to families experiencing perinatal loss. "
